About Shoreview

Perhaps Shoreview, MN was inspired by its Dakota and Ojibwe Indian settlers to maintain their environmentally friendly way of life. Remnants of Indian burial sites, pottery, arrowheads and more can be found around the Shoreview community and parks. Becoming Gold LEED, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, certified has been a proud accomplishment for the community. LEED is the third largest third party verification for green buildings and addressing sustainability issues. The LEED program focuses on material used in buildings, water efficiency, and improving occupant comfort. Maintaining their Gold status is a high priority for Shoreview. Their next goal is obtaining a Platinum status, the highest tier in the LEED program.

In addition to being a leader in green buildings, Shoreview is proud of its many clean parks and trails. A total of 14 different parks accounts for over 1400 acres of land in the city. Working with a Grade Potential can help you finish your work faster so you too can go and enjoy one of the many parks the city has to offer. Each park has its own unique facilities and activities to enjoy. Wilson Park is made of 13 acres and includes amenities for any member of the family. A hockey rink, tennis/basketball courts and ball parks are just a few of what is available at Wilson. Most parks in Shoreview include warming houses and park buildings for when the winter chill puts an end to the outside fun.

With 75 acres, McCullough Park has all of what Wilson has to offer and even more. A storybook trail takes you across a wooden bridge and through a serene path under the trees. Year around Shoreview is a beautiful community where hiking and biking is welcome. Rice Creek trail is a total of 10.4 miles which overflows into Ramsey and Anoka Counties. The winding trial and peaceful setting will get you lost not only in your own mind but even physically. The trails winds and turns often get first timers a bit mixed up. Through the Arden Hills is a calmer part of the trail which showcases the creek from both sides of the trail. In the norther part of the trail, which makes up 5 miles of the trail, is the most exciting part of the trial. Here is where most of the turns, loops and curves are. Most turns are still unmarked and untamed.

The parks and trails mentioned are just a few that Shoreview has to offer. Being an environmentally friendly community is truly taken to heart in this community. The outdoors and nature is made to be enjoyed all year round here. Shoreline has become an aspiring example of how a city can embrace what it naturally has to offer.
