As a credentialed Education Specialist, I excel at supporting students who are struggling or having difficulty in most academic subjects. I am trained to use a variety of supports, such as graphic organizers to support more detailed and organized writing or chunking assignments to increase student productivity and success within a given period of time, to help students meet their academic and learning goals. I am trained in a variety of formal and informal assessments that help me identify where exactly a missing piece is in a student's knowledge of a subject they're struggling in. I am also good at analyzing work samples to come up with appropriate supports to help a student succeed. For example, if I see a student who lists a bunch of ideas in their writing, I know we need to go back and work on transition words and/or expanding each idea. I frequently communicate with parents about student progress and have worked with families from various socioeconomic backgrounds. I also have experience working with EL students, students with learning disabilities, and students on the autism spectrum.
