Green City is known for its green: opulently scattered trees and shrubs thriving along its city streets. Houses seemingly sprout of green, decked all around. And, there is a mite 530 acres of award-winning parks. 10 city parks is quite a bit for a town last surveyed at about 25,000 in population. Its life buds from the green -- and the farmland of its youthful birth.

Farms owned by enterprising, hardworking farmers covered the hills and valleys of its youthful heritage. The land was rich, and the rain was plentiful. Then, coal was found, and it added to the areas prosperity. Businesses joined in the budding life of the area, businesses and families moving in with them. The land and green about seemed an ideal backdrop for family life, then and today.

Just an hour’s drive from the bustling center of Cleveland, Ohio, there are ready business, activity, and educational links. The town itself, a mere 5,000 in the 1950’s has grown with the small business community it fostered. Learning, in myriad types, is treasured. Youths can learn archery in the park. Families attend summer concerts, picnic, and scramble to find the Easter Bunny in the green of Green City parks. They sponsor loads of activities. Many a youthful budding businessman can sharpen his or her golf skills from five years onward, studying the sport, and developing networking skills to boot!

Industry is part of the City of Greens’ family and small business heritage. Youths are encouraged to explore, whether doing park pony rides, learning to fish in their ponds, cast and do knots, or master the skills of English, arithmetic, and science in school.
