About Eagan
Eagan, Minnesota, takes play seriously, providing all kinds of natural and manmade amenities for its roughly sixty-five thousand residents. In Eagan, there is no excuse not to play! Here are some of the city’s best attractions:
Cascade Bay Waterpark: The largest outdoor municipal waterpark in the upper Midwest, Cascade Bay features seven waterslides, a lazy river, a sand beach, a leisure pool, and even a nine-hole miniature golf course. The park offers snorkeling and lifeguarding classes, water fitness classes, lap swimming, swim lessons, birthday parties, and venue rental for larger events.
Eagan Food on 4 Wheels Festival: Some people like attending county fairs just for the food. A food truck party is even better, with no distraction from carnival rides, just serious eating. Over twenty food trucks attend. Live music provides a festive atmosphere.
Lutz Railroad Garden: Conductor Bud opens his backyard railroad garden to the public one Sunday each month. Visitors will enjoy watching the G-scale train run past waterfalls, through tunnels, and over handmade trestle bridges cresting streams and villages. Delightful features abound, like the bubble fountain that powers the water wheel, which subsequently causes a miniature man to cut wood and a woman to wash clothes. Garden lovers will enjoy the lush grounds planted with unique trees, flowering vines, and shade plants.
Parks and trails: Money magazine ranked Eagan as the fourteenth best place to live in America in 2012. With its open space, 200 lakes and wetlands, 56 parks, and 161 miles of walking trails, Eagan is a virtual playground for nature lovers, water-sports-enthusiasts, walkers and joggers, and lazy-summer-day sunbathers. Of course, kids who keep up with their homework and do well in school with guidance from an Eagan tutor will have much more time to explore the great outdoors.
The Blast Indoor Playground: Eagan has thoughtfully provided a place for kids to play, even when the weather is bad. This space-themed indoor attraction gives kids a way to burn off energy by climbing, sliding, jumping, and running. Exhausted parents are free.
Football and more: As of March 2018, Minnesota Vikings have their headquarters in Eagan. The 40-acre training center features an indoor training facility with a 100-yard synthetic-surface field, a media production studio, a spacious locker room, a weight room with state-of-the-art equipment, an expandable stadium that seats 6,500 to 10,000 overlooking a turf field, 4 outdoor grass fields, and an adjoining orthopedic center that serves as an all-purpose medical center for Vikings players. Because the interior of the practice area is almost 100 feet tall, players can actually punt the ball indoors. The performance center has a treadmill pool, cold and hot plunge pools, and four whirlpools. The training facility will also be used by local youth sport organizations and schools (lucky kids!). Students who seek tutoring in Eagan can give more attention to sports at this awesome facility and all that Eagan has to offer.
