Families love living in Converse, in large part due to the safe and clean parks that are available for public use. Even though there are only two city parks, they are both large sites that contain many amenities for public use. The two parks are North Park and City Park. North Park features most of the city’s activity, as it contains play structures and ball fields for public use. City Park is less developed and has a lot of room for new amenities to be built.

North Park is developed into a beautiful area in Converse, with activities for the whole family. A grand total of nine baseball and softball fields are located within North Park. These ball fields provide plenty of space for league practice and tournament play. Two football fields are also located within North Park, along with one paved basketball court. An all-purpose trail weaves its way around North Park, providing a great surface for hiking, running, and biking.

Other Converse city amenities include two natural lakes and two sizable pavilions, perfect for renting out for your next family reunion or birthday party. A regulation sized Olympic swimming pool is also located in Converse, providing families with a great place to go when it is hot and humid outside during those long summer months. A butterfly garden is also located in Converse, which is a great place to take young children for an afternoon of observation.

The Public Works Department in Converse takes a lot of pride in providing vandalism clean up of all public parks areas. This makes the whole city feel safer and cleaner, and provides a more positive environment for the city’s youth to play.
