A well-known city due to a tragedy in the 1990s, Columbine is the location where the Columbine High School shooting occurred. The event that is now referred to as a “massacre” consisted of various bomb attacks and other explosive devices, and this violent act was a well planned attack by two high school students. In the wake of the tragedy, Columbine was forced to bond together in the shared sense of loss and grief and help to recreate a community where families would feel safe again. The entire nation felt the loss of those who were murdered and injured, and the tragedy began what is still a heated debate over gun control regulations.

In the middle of the 20th century, Columbine featured a new, unique golf course, that featured many neighborhoods weaved between parts of the course. Known for being particularly gorgeous and well kept, this golf course is called the Columbine Country Club. The golf course features a gorgeous backdrop, showing off the Rocky Mountains and showcasing unique and picturesque views of Colorado.

Residents of Columbine are used to the presence of wildlife throughout the area, but tourists may be less accustomed to seeing a coyote wandering through the streets. Part of why families love living in Columbine is the close proximity to nature, and wildlife comes along with that. It is important to remember, however, to keep the wildlife “wild” but not interacting with the animals. No feeding or approaching animals is allowed, as doing so is dangerous for a number of reasons. It is dangerous to approach wildlife because, as wild animals, they can be unpredictable and may cause you injury. It is also dangerous because you may cause the animal to become too comfortable with human interaction, and it may become too domesticated to survive well in the wild anymore. Safely coexist and enjoy these animals from a distance.
