There is always something to do here in Clayton, and the local Parks and Recreation Department is always planning the next festival or community event. During the fall, there are a few local favorites, including the Halloween Hayride, the Boo Bash (benefiting local youth organizations), and the safe downtown Trick or Treat. Many holiday traditions are celebrated here in Clayton, and many of the local events are nonprofit, with all of the proceeds going toward local charities or families in need. Here in Clayton, there are many beautiful outdoor spaces and park facilities available. With a large network of trails and nature paths, Clayton is very bike friendly and dog friendly. With eight local public elementary schools, four local public middle schools, and one local public high school, the students of Clayton are served by the Johnston County Public School District, which affords them many great educational resources. Beside the excellent local public schools, Clayton is also home to several private schools and charter schools as well, providing local students with many great choices for education. For students attending any of these local institutions, local Clayton tutors are available for extra after-school help.
