What’s in a name? Carmichael comes directly from the last name of the city’s founding father, Daniel W. Carmichael. One of the more popular events is the Concerts in the Park, which happens throughout the summer months in Carmichael. Local bands and musical performers provide free concerts at Carmicahael Park. Locals bring along their picnic dinners and enjoy free entertainment and socialization. Summer Day Camps for kids are also available through the Parks and Recreation Department. Sports days, crafts, and educational classes are all a part of the weekly day camps that are held during the summer here in Carmichael.

When it comes to education, the students of Carmichael are served by the San Juan Unified School District. With many elementary schools, over a half dozen middle schools, and two high schools, the city of Carmichael has a lot of options when it comes to education. Both of the high schools located in Carmichael are private schools, however, and for a public high school, students must travel to nearby high school options within the San Juan Unified School District. For students that need extra help in their studies, local Carmichael tutors are available.
