The silver lining of this destruction was that it garnered the attention of local officials and state funding, and many buildings in Brownsville were rehabilitated. More jobs were created as a result, and Brownsville's crime rate began to drop.

It's one of the only theaters like it still around today, and it's distinct architectural style is very unique. Though it is no longer a theater, it has been refurbished and protected, and is now used as a retail space and a charter school, among other things.
