About Apex
The medium-sized city of Apex is located in the northern central part of North Carolina, and spans both Chatham and Wake counties. As a nod to the town’s name, its motto claims that Apex is “The Peak of Good Living”, and local families agree that it doesn’t get much better than living in Apex.
Named for the fact that it was the location of the most northern spot along the local railroad line, Apex has a long history in the railroad industry, and is one of the oldest railroad towns in this part of North Carolina.
