Another popular concert venue in the city is the Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie. This beautiful, new facility hosts many concerts and local events year round.

Around Christmastime, Grand Prairie is the place to be. A famous local seasonal display, “Prairie Lights”, is an attraction for families near and far. With millions of Christmas lights and hundreds of holiday scene displays, families love taking a stroll through this festive installation. The Parks and Recreation Department of Grand Prairie is very involved in city development and park maintenance. Among these well-established public parks, Grand Prairies also boasts two beautiful golf courses, and access to Joe Pool Lake, one of Texas’s most popular water features. Parks around the lake are always kept clean and well maintained. Families of Grand Prairie love being able to take camping trips to Joe Pool Lake, and take their kids out on the lake for fishing and swimming while they vacation so close to home.
