I grew up in a community with lots of disadvantages. Many of the teachers that taught me were ill prepared and lacked the connection with students which made it difficult to learn. The main reason why I succeeded in school was because of tutors that came and helped me understand the concepts being taught. They also helped me go through life's hardships that aren't directly tied with academia. It is a tutors job to help their students succeed in not only in academia but also: socially, mentally, and emotionally. I wish to return the favor and help students who were in the same position that I was, because I believe in the saying, " Every students has the potential to succeed, no matter what."

I would be a good tutor because I am currently a college student and I have experience with many subjects but primarily have a greater knowledge in science course. I have worked with Elementary and Middle school students before for about a year and a half in a day care program that included helping kids with their homework, so that experience would really help me in tutoring.
