It’s often a festive time in Stow City, Ohio. There’s lots of town and nearby activity and jobs. The suburban center hosts many an event, has neat housing and highly acclaimed schools. Yearly, it celebrates the bountiful harvest of life, in their annual Stow Harvest Festival. Loads of food and activities of the free event are housed in a barn, in Stow’s Silver Springs Park.

There’s food, pumpkin pie, pumpkin painting, apple butter, meat, vegetables and over 25 booths, and activities to do and see. Historical buildings are one of the festivals important features. Now that can be fun for all, young and old. Many a pet comes to the festival along with its owner too. Students like to saunter about. It’s a fantastic break from their studies. They do emphasize studies in Stow City.

Stow-Munroe Falls School system has been designated as an “excellent” one by the State of Ohio. Its students have a nice hometown atmosphere, and are linked to an abundance of higher learning universities, junior colleges and trade schools in the nearby Cleveland Ohio’s, big city metropolis.

The community is supportive and highly interactive with the school district. Stow City Tutors are on hand too, and cover the subjects from Kindergarten through high school and college. Tutoring in testing techniques enables many a youth to shine, along with the opportunity to learn subject skills. Schools changes over time, and tutors help youths evolve with the times. Harvest Festival time, many youths and adults to visit the town’s old one-room school house.

Other exhibits include woodcarving, blacksmithing, quilting, trades of the past that were integral to the economy just as high tech is today. The festival has roots, and booths loaded with history and the arts, crafts and painting, many relative to jobs and careers, as well as speaking to the life of old, treasured still. Every time is a time of harvest.

The Harvest Festivals music and entertainment is enjoyed by Stow folks, visitors from near and far, and more than a few farm animals on exhibit tune into its vibrancy. Children can do pumpkin painting, and lessons in the art. Every skills has a few techniques to make it faster, easier, and more fun. Stow Tutors teach study techniques, and notetaking, essay test tips, loads of ways to excel in school. You never know when you’ll get a pop quiz!

The Stowe library often contributes to the Harvest Festival. It’s been known to sponsor a “Stow History Quiz.” Books are often displayed by the old school-house. And more than a few Stow City historians are on hand to tell about the past and the community support of maintaining it. The Old School-House renovation was a community focus, with local grant writing and fundraising. Stow’s a close-knit community that revels in the past, and aims to help its youths rise to a bright future.
