    About Bradenton

Bradenton is a great community right in the middle of Florida’s west coast. Bradenton’s history dates back to the Spanish explorers, but the town was not actually established until the 1840’s. At that time, the area suffered many Seminole Native American attacks, and the local settlers would flee to the home of Dr. Joseph Braden for refuge. Because of this, the town was named Bradenton.

Today Bradenton is home to many historical buildings, businesses, and the Village of the Arts. The Village of the Arts is a neighborhood with over one hundred homes, art galleries, restaurants, workshops, and studios. This neighborhood is a blend of homes and business because of unique zoning laws passed by the city of Bradenton. The laws allow artists living in the Village of the Arts residential area, to work and sell from home. This legal exception has allowed Bradenton to benefit from an incredible art district that attracts locals and visitors alike.

Ironically, this beautiful and iconic neighborhood was once considered one of the city's biggest eye sores. However, the city’s move to allow for the special zoning arrangements, has given the residents the ability to create a whole new neighborhood. Many of the artists have used their profits to improve the aesthetics of their homes; while some have even had their hundred year old homes completely restored. This has made the area not only aesthetically pleasing, but historically valuable. Bradenton could tutor other cities in how to revitalize their run down neighborhoods.

The Village artisans not only practice traditional art like drawing but photography and painting, as well. Many residents practice skills long forgotten like goldsmithing, silversmithing, stained glass, woodcarving and basket weaving. The community also has many artists who enjoy restoration, along with recycled and upcycled art. Many of the businesses also sell books, jewelry, and antiques to go along with their artworks. The area is a great place to shop for beautiful and unique pieces and even enjoy some fine dining. Many of the residents have incorporated small restaurants into their properties, and have capitalized on hungry visitors that come to see the art district. This community has really thrived under the new arrangement of working from home. They now appreciate a beautiful neighborhood, good business, and the freedom to flourish.

Bradenton tutors want to see every student live out their dreams. If difficulty in school is holding your child back from success, a Bradenton tutor could be the answer you are looking for. Sometimes people just need a little extra support to reach their true potential.
